Hana Kimi is a very popular drama that has two versions: Taiwanese and Japanese. Hana Kimi - Japan was aired in the year 2007.
I have seen the Japanese version and I liked it very much so. I have seen the first few episodes of the Taiwanese version and did not like it. There are people I know who I asked if they had liked the Taiwanese version and they had said that they did not like it either. The people that I asked about the Taiwanese version said that the main character had some problems.
For me, the girl trying to be a guy in the Taiwanese version looks too much like a guy. I did not like that person. In the Japanese version you can still tell the girl was a girl the whole time but at the same time still know that she was trying to be a he. The main character's hair style can be unisexual.
CrunchyRoll summary:
Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese girl in the U.S., one day sees the young athlete Izumi Sano compete in the high jump on television. She begins to idolize him, and decides to move to Japan to attend the same school as him. However, Izumi goes to an all-boys school, so Mizuki disguises herself as a boy to achieve her dream of being with her idol.

I guess I could recommend this drama out to people who have not yet already watched it. The drama was a good one but once you stop watching it for the day then you feel like you don't have the mood and energy to continue to watch another episode. Of course for myself, I was watching this drama as it was coming out so I always had the feeling of not wanting to watch it. However, everytime I started watching it I couldn't stop and was barely able to wait for the next upcoming episode.I have seen the Japanese version and I liked it very much so. So I suggest you watch this if you are willing to watch a majority of it before taking breaks from it.
